Our Mission
PetLove Hospice has served Dubuque and its surrounding communities since 2022. In 2021, Dr. Mackenzie Hellert purchased the PetMed of Key West Veterinary Clinic of Dubuque and started PetLove Hospice through her primary clinic to offer in-home euthanasia and pet hospice services to the Dubuque community. Dr. Hellert and her associate, Dr. Tigges, are extremely passionate about what they do and share their lives with many animals of their own. Our compassionate team of veterinarians and technicians will help you and your pet navigate this last stage.

When is it time?
If you need help deciding if now is the right time: Our compassionate doctors will discuss hospice care, pain control options, and quality of life concerns. You can make an in-home or telehospice appointment with our doctors and together we will come up with a plan that is best for your family.
If now is the right time: Our team offers the gift of in-home euthanasia for the comfort or your pet and your family. We work with S&S Cremation of Centralia, IA to offer cremation, paw prints, urns, and personalized name plates. Or you may prefer to bury your pet in a special spot you have already picked out.
